FREQUENTLY ASKED
How accurate is the PDF to Word conversion?+
It depends on the PDF. Text-based PDFs (created from Word, Google Docs, etc.) convert with high accuracy — text, paragraphs, and basic formatting come through cleanly. Scanned PDFs or image-heavy documents are trickier since the text needs OCR processing. For most homework, reports, and business documents, the conversion works great. Complex layouts with multiple columns or intricate tables may need minor manual adjustments in Word.
Does the converter preserve formatting and images?+
We extract and preserve text content, paragraph structure, and basic formatting. Images embedded in the PDF are included in the Word output. However, exact visual replication isn't always possible since PDF and Word handle layouts fundamentally differently — PDFs use fixed positioning while Word uses flow-based layout. For 90% of documents, the result is very usable.
Can I convert a scanned PDF to an editable Word doc?+
Our tool works best with text-based PDFs (where you can select and copy text in the original). For scanned documents that are essentially images of text, the conversion will include the images but won't extract editable text from them. For scanned PDFs, you'd need an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) tool first to make the text extractable.
What Word format does it output — .doc or .docx?+
We output .docx files, which is the modern Word format used by Microsoft Word 2007 and later, Google Docs, LibreOffice, and virtually every word processor. The .docx format is smaller, more compatible, and better structured than the legacy .doc format. You can open it in Word, Google Docs, Pages, or any modern word processor.
